DOVES BANDED FOR RESEARCH PROJECT - Aug. 05, 2009Mourning doves are a common sight during the warm summer months, and you can even hear them calling, but have you ever wondered how many doves there are? Biologists with the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) have joined researchers across the country to gather data they hope will answer that question.
Drawing Scheduled for Dove Hunt Opener at Overton - Aug. 14, 2008
Opening day of the 2008 dove hunting season is September 1. Hunters wishing to hunt at the Overton Wildlife Management Area will need to make opening day reservations by participating in a drawing scheduled for 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25. A drawing will also be held for the opening weekend (Sept. 6 & 7) at that same time and at the same locations.
