Ultimate Dove Hunting Presents: Dove Hunting in Texas
Anyone who has ever been on a dove hunt knows what all the hype is about. For those who have never experienced the challenge, you are in for a fun time. Texas Five Star Hunting Adventures offers morning and white wing dove hunting for small groups and large corporate groups.The Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife is providing hunters and landowners with a list of changes and updates for several hunting seasons, many of which begin Sept. 1.
Important Information for Dove Hunters - Aug. 28, 2008
Earlier this summer, the DOW and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service banded over 700 mourning doves across Colorado. Doves were trapped, fitted with aluminum, individually numbered leg bands and then released. This effort is part of a nationwide program to help biologists determine annual survival rates, harvest rates and distribution of the harvest as well as refine techniques for future dove-banding programs. Hunters may encounter doves banded by other states as well.

Hunters statewide can celebrate the beginning of dove season at noon on Saturday, Sept. 6. Traditionally considered the beginning of the fall hunting season in Georgia, dove season is a great opportunity to introduce children and grandchildren to hunting and to tailgate with family and friends.
Obtain HIP Permit before Dove Hunting - Aug. 28, 2008
Be sure to obtain a free HIP permit before hunting dove or other migratory birds this year. HIP, the federal Migratory Bird Harvest Information Program, requires hunters pursuing doves, ducks, geese, rails and other migratory bird species to complete a short harvest survey.

KDWP Wildlife Area Plantings Attract Doves - Aug. 27, 2008
To enhance dove hunting opportunity, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks has managed a number of fields on wildlife areas specifically to attract doves. Management techniques include standing or mowed sunflowers, unharvested strips of wheat and burned crop stubble, mowed wheat, mixed plantings, or any combination of techniques. Some areas will have restricted hunting dates or times, and others may be restricted to youth and disabled hunters.
Youth/ Novice Dove Areas At Brzon and Jamestown Wildlife Areas - Aug. 27, 2008
Fall hunting begins on Sept. 1 when dove season opens, and Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks managers at Brzon and Jamestown wildlife areas, near Concordia, have planted fields to attract doves. For the opening two weeks of the season, portions of the area will be restricted to youth and novice hunters only.
